Day 2- We were in Nassau. There isn’t much to do in Nassau and we were only there for a short time. We always like to walk a couple blocks to visit The Bearded Clam. They have great drinks, good food and nice staff. It’s located in an alley off the road that runs in front of the port. A little hidden gem that we prefer over Senor Frogs and other chains found in port. As we walked in and out of the port, we passed all the new construction of the new port buildings. They have made great progress since our last visit last year. It looks to be quite beautiful when it is completed. A word of warning to anyone coming out of the port, be prepared to be bombarded by the locals trying to sell you excursions, cab rides or horse and buggy rides. If you aren’t interested, keep your eyes forward and keep walking.
After returning to the ship, we had lunch and then hubby and little man took a nap while Kimmie and I went to a pour and sip art class. The resident artist, Lenier taught a class on drawing a lion head while we sipped 3 kinds of wine. This was one of our perks for being Captain’s Elite status. The class was free and lots of fun.
Day 3-We are at sea today. The water looked like glass earlier but there are small waves now. We wandered and explored different parts of the ship. There were some amazing things to see. We dropped little man at Camp at Sea then went to the Captain’s Club Celebration in Eden. We got to hear Captain Kate discuss the new ships coming out and had some great entertainment and free drinks. We picked little man up after the celebration and took him for pizza in the Oceanview Cafe, then down for a nap with hubby. Kimmie and I went to Eden cafe for lunch and had an amazing chicken pesto sandwich. My brother in law message us to tell us that there were 3 water spouts off the side of the ship. Luckily our captain steered us around them. Then back to the cabin for a travel webinar on Ireland.
We all met up with my brother in law for trivia before dinner. My sister joined at the very end since it takes her a bit longer to get ready. We hung out at the Martini bar for a bit before dinner just chatting and listening to the band.
After dinner we decided to take little man back to Camp at Sea for the pirate party. While he was there, we went off to explore more of the ship. I’m not sure we will even see everything by the end of the week. We went back to get little man but the party hadn’t started and they begged us to let him stay since the party hadn’t started yet. They were still decorating their bandannas. So off we went again. By the time we came back 30 minutes later, little man was tired and ready to leave.
There was an 11:00 pm show that I really wanted to see. Wonder of Eden:Dreams was an Alice in Wonderland set to contemporary music. Hubby was tired so I went alone (so not like me). I messaged my sister and she said she would meet me there. I went at 10:30 and was shocked that it was already standing room only and people were even sitting on the floor. I found a little niche and managed to save enough room for my sister to stand with me. The show was amazing so I’m glad that I was able to stay awake to see it.
Next stop… Costa Maya, Mexico.
